Superb large slipware deep bowl or charger by Janet Adam of Edinburgh.
A very rare piece with distinctive design and possibly a one-off as I’ve not seen another one like it.
Amazingly original design/concept by a potter who was very highly regarded in her field and whose work is ing very collectable and desirable.
Date possible 1960's/70's.
NB Janet Adam was a founder member of the Scottish Potters Association and much admired for her experimental glazes. Her remarkable series “Bark Shards”, from the SPA 30th Anniversary Exhibition Clay in Bloom held in 2004 at Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Gardens. The exhibition moved to Benmore Botanic Gardens and subsequently toured Scotland,

No damages, chips or cracks
At the rim, there is a small pottery firing flaw at the rim - a gap in the glaze when firing - not a chip.
