Vintage Bully Beef Can opener

An antique 'Bully Beef' can opener used by British soldiers to open their canned meat rations. The can opener features a wooden handle with a cast iron bull's head to house the blade. The wooden handle dates this can opener to pre-1880's as later models had cast iron handles.
This can-opener could have been used almost anywhere in the world, manufactured as it was at the height of the colonial period.
The can opener measures 16cm in length and is in good condition with some wear to the wooden handle. It is a fascinating item which has a long and interesting history.
