Vintage Ashbory Mark II Bass Guitar Pre Fender 1980s UK Rare No 66/90

Rare is an overused term when describing guitars,but this one is pretty rare, its a UK made Ashbory bass, siilcone strings, fretless , small but designed to sound like an upright double bass.
This is the Mark II version and according to the excellent article on the bass centre website only about 80 of this version were ever made but inside its marked 66/90 .... They had an RRP of £375 back in the 80s.
Obviously its of its age , and has been used, its working, there is a little noise from the pots, not crackle but operational noise, especially on the 3rd outer pot. The controls are volume, and bass and treble controls and the two way active switch which lights the LED ( a little temperamental at times).
The bass plays nicely and does a good job of recreating the upright sound, its not perfect but its good. The tuners are geared and the fretboard posite of some sort. I believe this is the only version not 'dogbone' shape and this version has a 22\" scale. I don't have the bridge cover.
I can't say if pares to a modern version, I've never had one and its 40 years old including the tech so please bear this in mind.
Generally its in good cosmetic condition with some marks and signs of use. The Ashbory logo is a little faded.
Comes with basic gig bag (original ?) and a print out of info about this version.
It works, its not perfect but it exists....
