World class and rare Tannoy DMT 12 dual concentric monitor speakers for sale in excellent condition. (1 - 2 small marks detailed in the last 2 photos).
Based in Herts. Happy for serious buyer to audition.
I have cherished these for 30 years in my music room upstairs and they have occasional use - 2 - 3 times a month. The e with matching pair of black steel stands with spikes.
These monitors have Tannoy's trademark dual concentric units and natural, crystal clear sound and very deep tight bass. The system 12's are a neutral, smooth sounding, non-ear-fatiguing fortable listening speaker. Designed for midfield use in major studios or as a monitor for smaller rooms the System 12 DMT offers a reference sound quality.
Currently driving these monitors with a Unico DM valve power amplifier delivering 150 watts per channel and it is a good pairing, and before this, they were driven by bi-amped QUAD 405's ... again very rewarding, but the Unico has a pureness the QUADs dont have.
Why am I selling you may well ask. WELL its not voluntary! 1) I've recently inherited a 1928 EMG gramophone plete with imposing 4ft horn which my wife is prepared to suffer/tolerate if I downsize my hi-fi speakers and 2) the music room is relocating down stairs and as part of this relocation she seeks a less imposing speaker.
Prefer collection as each monitor is 26kg. I dont have the original packaging.
