The Investment Office is a key part of the Investment team within Scottish Widows, whose role is to oversee all our third-party fund managers running the GBP140bn of customer assets.
We're looking for a Senior Manager - Asset Allocation, Investment Office, who will be responsible for managing part of the multi asset portfolio (including the With Profits funds) and helping to lead the Fixed Income Investment Lead team that is responsible for all our outsourced fixed income strategies.

Your role is pivotal to help us build, manage and evolve an appropriate set of Scottish Widows mandated and third-party managed funds, across all our propositions but particularly for our pension customers to offer to their members.
What would you be getting involved with?
Lead: the fund management delivery for part of the multi asset book with particular responsibility for the with profits funds. Ensure that the underlying building block fund management was being carried out appropriately by our outsourced fund managers
Asset Allocation: Take a leading role in our approach to setting strategic asset allocation, including driving optimisations for relevant multi asset funds across different types of propositions such as with-profits, unit linked and DC default pension portfolios
Assessment: assess fund managers, their teams and capabilities, taking into account qualitative and quantitative factors, for a specific set of our funds and propositions, including in our market leading default pension business
Reporting: provide written and verbal output from assessments as appropriate to target audience, typically investment committees
Methodology: ensure our fund management assessment approach and methodology as well as optimisation techniques are regularly reviewed with the rest of the senior team, current and fit for purpose, taking input from key partners as required
Relationship Management: Lead the management of relationships of identified accounts. This may involve lobbying for changes to funds and discussions at senior levels within the organisation
Wider Activities: Promote Scottish Widows' fund propositions with key advisers and Distribution. Produce research on a variety of market and investment themes that can be used externally
Skills & Experience we're looking for
Detailed knowledge and experience of the asset management industry.
Track record of managing multi asset funds with a history of making valuable contributions through strategic asset allocation decision making
Historic management or oversight across other specific asset classes
Track record of building and maintaining relationships with fund managers and leading commercial discussions.
Seasoned in presenting to senior leaders, consultants and clients
Good working knowledge of regulations relating to fund structures and application to products
Location & Ways of Working:
Our team works primarily out of our Edinburgh and London hubs therefore we'll prefer you to be based a commutable distance from one of these areas.
We work in a hybrid model, splitting your time between the office and working from home.
