THIS IS A PROTOTYPE FIGURE OF A WINNING GOLFER MADE IN 2004.
WHILST AN INVENTORY OF BLOCKS AND MOLDS WAS BEING DONE AT THE DOULTON NILE STREET FACTORY THIS FIGURES MOLD WAS DISCOVERED.
ONLY 3 WERE MADE IN DIFFERENT COLOURWAYS AND THIS IS No 1.
THIS PROTOTYPE FIGURE UTILISING THE 1970's BLOCK WAS MANUFACTURED AND DECORATED IN 2004.
THE BASE BEARS THE ROYAL DOULTON BACKSTAMP AND IS MARKED 1/3
THERE WAS NO CERTIFICATE ISSUED BY DOULTON AND I HAVE AN EMAIL TO CONFIRM THIS IN RESPONSE TO AN ENQUIRY I MADE WHEN I PURCHASED IT IN SEPT 2004 FROM DOULTON.
WOULD MADE AN IDEAL TROPHY AT A GOLF CLUB.
