Rare and very sought after Rigel Q95 mandolin in excellent condition with custom Tweed case. Designed with input from jazz mandolinist Ted Eschliman to replicate same voicing as 19teens/ early
1920's Gibson A's, with the benefit of new design materials and technology to strengthen and enhance the build durability. Fitted by Rigel with a piezo pick up, this instrument sounds gorgeous both acoustically and amplified. Rigel was a highly regarded maker of mandolins, Chris Thile, (and other famous mandolinists), have owned and played them.
Rigel as pany is now no more, which means those Rigels now in circulation are particularly sought after and hard to find. Rigels are famous for their ease of playability. They are made with the best timbers and materials. This model is particularly suited to gypsy jazz and tradional Irish and Scottish music (my main interest). The tail on this model makes fort and grip when playing whilst seated. The strap button is fitted by Rigel as standard on these models.
This particular instrument is in excellent condition, some natural tainting is evident on the Rigel tailpiece, (see photos), but otherwise the mandolin is pristine.
