Residential Child Care Worker
Location: Lochgelly KY5 9BGSalary: GBP20972- GBP24,627 per year based on 37 hr week (plus additional GBP3528-GBP5544 on top of your salary for sleepovers, please note sleepover payments will vary depending on rota)Contract: Full Time, Permanent
We are looking for an experienced Child Care Worker who is passionate about care and is looking for an opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills to come and join our friendly team in Lochgelly!
Residential Child Care Worker - The Role:
You will be enthusiastic, have a good sense of humour, dynamic, like children and have a sound understanding of child development and Attachment Disorders, we are looking for someone who has previous experience in working with children.
This position requires someone who will be innovative and promote the individual needs and rights of very vulnerable children. You will be required to;
Write reportsAttend meetingsAttend children's hearingsParticipate in family work You will have responsibility for ensuring progression of the children's care plans and work in partnership with all professionals involved in the lives of the children being cared for in Crannoch.

Maintaining a safe and nurturing environmentUndertaking household tasksParticipation in activities with children to promote their needs in accordance with National Care Standards and the principles and values of GIRFEC Residential Child Care Worker - What we need from you:
Ideally you should have completed or be in the process of completing your HNC in Social Services (or an award of certificated knowledge with 96 credits at or above SCQF Level 7) and or successfully have been assessed at SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children & Young People) however, we will support successful candidates to gain the necessary qualifications as required.
You should also have the ability and experience to contribute with colleagues to form individual personal plans and plan any therapeutic interventions.
The successful candidate will have access to an induction programme as well as regular eLearning that will be relevant to your role. Additional training will be provided in managing difficult behaviour, Attachment Disorders and Trauma as well as other topics, as required to enable staff to carry out their task of caring for children and young people.
Essential
Able to work unsocial hours, including weekendsShift pattern, Full days & Sleep insMust meet the SSSC registration requirements for the appropriate part of the register, have recent experience working with children in a residential childcare setting or similar and have basic computer skills We would love it if you had a full driving licence with access to your own vehicle however, candidate without a full driving licence will be considered for this role.
