New Prohaszka Custom Old Growth ‘Fiddleback’ Mahogany Bard built in 2020.
Here is an exciting opportunity to acquire a stunning custom handmade guitar by Balázs Prohaszka. Balázs is a master luthier and in our opinion one of the world’s most talented guitar makers. He really does things with wood and inlays that most luthiers wouldn’t even dare to attempt and every guitar is crafted and voiced to perfection.
This is a stunning version of his ‘Bard’ model made from Old Growth or ‘Fiddleback’ Honduran Mahogany, (swietenia macrophylla), for the back, sides, top & neck and it looks and sounds incredible. It has an impeccable ‘Octopus’ inlay on the fretboard and an exquisite very cool looking ‘Japanese Waves’ design on the slotted headstock, both of which are made from ‘Mother of Pearl’. The rosette is made from Desert Ironwood surrounded by ebony, maple & ebony purflings.
This guitar really is a delight to play both fingerstyle and with a plectrum. The 47mm nut width obviously aimed more towards fingerstyle players, but we found this a breeze to play with a pick too giving adequate space to pick out your favourite flatpicked lines.
