I’m a professional musician in my 20s, specializing in Jazz piano.

During Covid my Jazz Piano Academy successfully transferred to a fully operational online setup. This option is available if preferred!
Though I generally prefer to teach in person, this alternative has been met with huge success.

Music has been and always will be my life’s passion. I gravitated to the piano at age 3, and have been playing ever since.
 
Credentials
- 6 years at Trinity-Laban Conservatoire of music in Greenwich doing Classical
- Intermediate years - diploma in Jazz piano
- Advanced years Graduating with a Bmus(Hons) Degree in Jazz piano.
Music/Piano with a Jazz focus has been a huge part of my life. If you’re unfamiliar with jazz, no problem! You likely are, and don’t even know it. Jazz is the most influential genre of all time, and has had an influence in virtually every other genre.

I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with my students.
My lessons differ from an average piano lesson in that I aim to impart upon students the number of possibilities that the piano has to offer- through discovering new angles and approaches in which to play.
As a Jazz musician, improvisation is what I do for a living. I play intuitively, and have the goal of making this option a possibility for my students.  
 
Although I am qualified to train classically, I prefer to focus on more of an intuitive and expressive side to the instrument! This includes;
- Learning and playing by ear
- Chordal approach
- Learning your favourite pieces
- Learning to read chord charts jazz/pop/rock musicians would use
- Composition
- Techniques of improvisation
- Memory Devices
- Touching on improvisational techniques and methods so that my student are able to continue to explore the piano in their own time
- Encouragement to carry posing, listening, transcribing and, in turn, always continuing to learn! As opposed to only learning during a lesson.
Student musicians differ from one another & are unique, and I my goal is to aid in this self-discovery. The music should never to be ‘over’ after the lesson!
Explore, compose, improvise & self-teach via trial & error every day, listening to your favourite artists-- pop, funk, rock, etc.
 
I teach students of all ages and all levels of ability, from around 7or8-80! from beginners to advanced.
There is always room to grow and I'm happy to share my knowledge, advice, tips and tricks for you to e a better player!

the best teachers I’ve ever had were such simply because, whatever the student needed in that hour lesson, (be it intense practice, exercises, teaching about the business itself, just listening to the student express themselves, or occasionally just talking!) they had access to.
The best teachers gave me that what I needed most in that hour, which was (naturally) different every time. As a result, I always walked out wanting more and feeling inspired and content in myself-- I would want to pursue it further for my teacher, but most importantly, for myself.
That is the most important thing, and I hope to recreate that experience for you.

Fees:
£25 for half an hour (£50 for an hour)
(additional travel expenses may be discussed for home visits)  
My rate decreases for weekly or biweekly lesson contracts.

I am flexible to your circumstances, so please do get in contact if there is an issue with £,
I’m sure we e to an agreement.
80% of my students pay £40-£55 an hour.

Location:
The majority of my students travel to me for lessons, and use my superb new Petrof upright piano.
I am willing to travel to my students homes for a small pensation.
I am also able to bring a personal keyboard to your location if necessary.
