I am a 54 year old female with M.E. based in Crookes (S10), who is looking for someone to fill a part time vacancy for a Personal Care Assistant.
The applicant must be female driver with their own car. This needs to be able to fit a standard size collapsible wheelchair. It would be great if you are happy to drive distances for days out etc.
Salary is £10.32 per hour plus mileage allowance. (£13.16 if you are self employed but this is inclusive of holiday pay). I am unable to do cash in hand, sorry.
I’m wanting to alter my shifts so hours can be discussed but must include Saturdays.
Potentially 4-6pm Thurs, 12-6pm Fri and 11-6pm Saturdays.
The job involves helping me with most activities of daily living eg food preparation and cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry, ironing, some personal care, social activities and outings, companionship, company and emotional support, some help with treatments eg applying analgesic creams, TENS machine and splints, prompting and reminding me to do exercises etc, assisting with travel, paperwork, basic computer work plus anything appropriate I may need assistance with.
Minimal manual handling is needed, just sometimes helping me stand from a low seat or linking arms if I’m wobbly!
I try to manage my own personal care.
No experience is needed although a high standard of cleaning and a willingness to be experimental with cooking, as I am on a special diet, would be great!
You must be reliable, of good health and a quiet, gentle caring manner is preferable.
