It is time for our family to part with the mother of all tents as we have far too much camping equipment
The tent has hardly been used in the years that we have owned it purely because we were lucky enough to start testing tents for several years not long after we bought this one.
It originally retailed for nearly £1000.
It is made of polycotton which means it is a breathable fabric. It keeps the tent cooler in hot weather and warmer when it is cold.
We also have the kids bedroom which attaches into this tent to keep young ones entertained (long since discontinued but much desired).
In the years we have had this tent it has been used for probably 3 or 4 weeks of camping tops (mainly on weekends) and it has always been put away totally dry and stored correctly.
In the interests of full disclosure the tent does have a patch on the back when it was holed by a rogue tent peg (this is what happens when you let loose kids and camping). This was repaired professionally by a sail maker in Otley and we also reproofed the tent at the same time. It is 100% waterproof.
This is a BIG tent. WE used the 2 back bedrooms and only used the extra bedroom pod if we had others camping with us. This then leaves you a large living type area to sit in and you also have a large porch at the front in addition which we used to store the cooker etc.
as it is polycotton the packed up size is larger than a nylon tent and the poles are steel. This tent is solid as a rock. Bear in mind the packed size, you need a large boot to fit in in if you are going away with it (we used a roof box).
