About this client:
Ivy, 29, is a sociable, engaging, and happy young lady; Snap Care has had the pleasure of working with Ivy and her family for many years. Ivy has many interests and hobbies, top of her list are adaptive yoga, walks, dancing and music. Ivy has CDKL5, a genetic condition which affects her overall development, she is a wheelchair user, is cortically blind and has severe epilepsy and requires regular emergency medication. As a result of Ivy’s condition, she is totally reliant on others to support her, 24/7. With the support of her family and a dedicated care team Ivy lives independently in a self-contained flat in her parent’s home.
Overview of role:
Ivy has a team of 12 Support Workers / Carers providing round the clock support on a 1:1 basis. The Team Leader role is shared between two team leaders, each manage 6 members of staff, completing inductions, appraisals, and supervisions. They have joint responsibility for arranging training, rotas, team meetings, updating care plans, reports etc. The Team Leaders overlook the smooth running of the team to support Ivy to live independently, be part other community and ensure that the team operates to a consistent and high standard. You will continue to work with Ivy 1:1 (typically 2 full days and 2 half day shifts per week) providing hands on support and cooking healthy and nutritious meals. Due to Ivy’s seizures; some days she will not be up for trips out or activities, however on a good day she likes to get out, be active, and especially enjoys walks on Hampstead Heath. Training is provided in all aspects of Ivy’s care, health, and medical needs, you will be trained to a very high standard to ensure you are confident following the protocols for seizure management and administering emergency medication.

This role will suit an experienced female* team leader who is passionate about their role and wants to continue working 1:1 to provide hands-on care and support. You’ll be confident working on your own and using your initiative and organizing and motivating your team. A confident driver and non-smoker/vaper, both essential.
