A rapidly expanding successful group that encompasses all aspects of the meat trade is recruiting a Production Supervisor for our site in Irlam, Manchester on our Nightshift.
Our business which is a Catering Butcher, has over 100 years' experience in the meat and farming industries. All products are prepared in the factory daily each customer's specifications, packaged and labelled to and above legislation, and then delivered direct throughout the UK.

The main purpose of this Production Supervisor role is to support the smooth and effective running of production on the nightshift. This is a very hands-on role.
Responsibilities include:
organising and planning the production and packing on nights.ensuring all orders are produced to the correct specification.completing stock counts and action short dates.ensuring that all finished product and work in progress is correctly labelled for traceability with both GRNs and batch codes.completing production records.ensuring the poultry area, tumbling room, and seasoning areas are kept clean & tidy.training staff within the production, packing, and poultry departments.supporting the administration of holiday shift patterns, together with the Factory Manager ensuring that all necessary cover is in place.liaising with HR regarding timekeeping, absences, complying with the Company Absence Procedure & Policy, Discipline and Grievance.This Production Supervisor role would suit candidates with experience in packing, production, leadership, time management, warehousing, as a Supervisor, Operative, Team Leader, or Production Manager.

However, the role also will require some flexibility in the working hours to meet the needs of the business.
Essential SkillsNo formal qualifications are required for this role and full training will be provided however it would be advantageous if you have supervisory experience in a production or packing and fast paced environment and significant experience supervising or managing staff.
You will have good communication skills and an ability to develop good working relationships with managers in other areas of the business and deliver the common goals of the business in terms of profitability and provision of agreed service levels to customers.You will have the ability to lead from the frontYou will demonstrate a willingness to embrace change and develop people within your team.You should have the ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Desirable SkillsExperience of managing a production operation would be advantageous but not essential.You should have good numeracy and literacy and be able to work individually and as part of a team in a very busy environment.About CompanyOur business supplies to customers including Hotels, Restaurants, Public Houses, the Education Sector, Outdoor events and food manufacturers.
