Mazda MX-5 Mark 1 - Eunos VR Limited Edition

This 1996 car is an outstanding example of one of the most sought-after Mark 1 Mazda MX5 1.8 Japanese special editions – the ‘Eunos VR Limited Edition Combination A’ finished in Vin Rouge Mica with Stone coloured interior (one of 700 made) . In the six years I have owned this car it has been lovingly cared for and improved whilst seeking to preserve the essence of the original model.
Standard additional features of the VR Ltd are electric windows, air conditioning, leather upholstery, extra bracing, lightweight flywheel, 15-inch Enkei five spoke alloy wheels and a Torsen LSD.
Renovations to this car include a new hood with heated glass rear screen and new leather seats and interior trim, all in original colours. In addition, I have fitted a new windscreen, OEM electric mirrors, remoted central locking with remote boot opening and a Pioneer double din digital radio system with uprated speakers.
Other improvements include Meister ‘R’ adjustable coilover suspension and a Motorsport Electronics ‘ME221’programmable engine management system. The car has had four wheel alignment done and been tuned on a rolling road dyno. It has also been fitted with new EBC brake discs with ‘Green Stuff’ pads all round, a high capacity alloy radiator, and high output headlights.
The bodywork is rust-free and the paintwork excellent, although there are minor ‘wear and tear’ blemishes as should be expected with any car of this age. Mileage is 116K (186K Kilometres).
The car drives brilliantly and everything works as it should. It has been regularly serviced and advisory-free MOTS are available back to 2015, along with files of receipts for all of the above and much more. Lancaster Insurance have certified an Agreed Valuation of £7,000.
The car has been garaged throughout my ownership, has rarely seen rain, and has spent winters indoors. It has been an absolute delight to own and I am only selling because advancing years and mobility issues are preventing me from enjoying it as I should.
Please note that the personal registration shown in the photos has recently been replaced with the original one of N130 XFJ.
