Job Title: Legal Advisor
Location: Fleet, office based during the first 3 months, then up to 2 days home working thereafter
Salary: Up to GBP45,000 depending on experience.

About the role of Legal Advisor
Our client is a Mortgage Lender going through a period of growth and expansion. They have an opportunity available in their legal and compliance team. The role will involve assisting the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer with the provision of legal services within the business.
Responsibilities for the position of Legal Advisor
Working alongside the Compliance Manager and provide support as and when required on legal mattersProvide advice and assistance to staff on any legal enquiriesProvide advice and guidance upon and review contracts to ensure the business and the security is appropriately covered form a legal perspectiveBuild and maintain positive relationships with the conveyancing panel membersResponsible for the maintenance and updates to the conveyancing panelResponsibility for ensuring Lender Exchange is well managed and kept up to dateWorking with Lender Exchange and responsible for ensuring adequate due diligence is carried out on the conveyancers, new and existingAttend market and regulatory seminars and feedback to the Legal and Compliance department on key topicsDeputise for the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer on any legal mattersBe able to interpret and understand complex legal matters and how they applyUndertake adhoc projects as and when requiredEnsure records are updated and maintained in accordance with agreed policy and proceduresWork to agreed objectives, service standards and deliverables whilst adhering to company and departmental policies and proceduresBe passionate for improvement and change within the business Experience required for the position of Legal Advisor
Proven track record of working on conveyancing mattersUnderstanding of contracts applicable to landlords, tenants and buy to let activitiesGood up to date knowledge on conveyancing processesUnderstanding of applicable legislation and regulationsEnthusiastic, flexible and keen to learn and developExcellent communication skills both written and verbal are essentialAble to be self-managing in respect of scheduled workloadPassionate about service deliveryConfident self-starter with the ability to build positive relationshipsEducated to Degree level or relevant work experience within a legal function will be acceptableProven experience in a financial service industry is an advantage, but not essentialA willingness to study a relevant professional qualification where required For more information regarding the role of Legal Advisor please contact us
