Large Assyrian Inspired Winged Figure / One-Off Pottery Tile

early to mid 1990's
The tile partially cracked laterally during the firing but I injected resin into the crack that stabilized it - not visable from the front and is still fine after more than 25 years
Due to the resin repair to this tile it's probably advisable not to hang outside
I modelled the original in clay, made a plaster mould, sharpened the detail in the plaster before it became firm and once it was totally dry, hand pressed this tile.
When the clay was firm enough, the tile was decorated and then had to be dried slowly on thick wades of newspaper and turned every day to prevent warping.
I had several crack during the firing process so in the end abandoned making them.
This tile and the others I am listing have been hanging on a wall in my attic for over twenty years - unseen.
Only one impression was ever taken of this tile
