And now for pletely differentThis lovely Series 1 Land Rover has only ever been for sale twice in its life and both times we have had the pleasure of putting it to market. Having been loveingly owned by its first keeper for the first 64 years of its life and the past year by a close friend of ours here at Twisted, it certainly has many stories to tell and many more to write.On taking it out to photograph it drives like nothing else and makes every journey an occasion. From the pencil thin steering wheel to the mechanical noises, it throws you back to a bygone era before everything was sanitised and automated. We smiled from ear to ear and enjoyed life at a slightly slower pace for half an hour. That said it is certainly quick enough on the road when pushed along and we have recently carried out some work to the braking system to ensure it can stop as well.With incredible patina to the bodywork, the charm of this little 88 inch series 1 is undeniable and is the perfect vehicle for a run out to the pub on a warm sunday afternoon. Supplied with the photographed hard top and cat flap tailgate arrangement and also a brand new soft top and galvanised hood stick set, it is geared up to make you smile whatever the weather. If you want the full flies in your teeth experience, the door tops are removable and the windscreen also folds down.Inside it has had new period style green seats installed to replace the originals which had been repaired once too often with duct tape. The period dials all work correctly and it is a joy to drive. The perfect addition to any collection and one to be enjoyed whenever you want to be whisked back in time and enjoy pletely engaging drive.
