The Role:
Salary up to GBP70,000 depending on experience25 days holiday plus BHOpportunity to WFH 3 days in a fortnightWill need to travel to Milton Keynes 2 days per week Private medical insurance for you and your family8% employee pension contribution Role Purpose:
To work on behalf of well–known clients to identify and implement innovative supply chain solutions which reduce costs and add value.
Key Accountabilities:
Interact with key stakeholders and analyse data to create category management approaches that deliver against both client and company needs and expectations.Advise and agree with clients on the procurement strategy for high spend categoriesDeliver measurable savings through hands on category management including undertaking tenders, negotiations and auctions on behalf of clients.Provide the enquiry, insight and creative thought needed to deliver a step change in supply chain performance.Influence stakeholders (clients and suppliers) to secure agreement to proposed solutions.Use of leading edge tools and processes and creative thinking to design solutions which deliver rapid cost savings and improvements in performanceSourcing suppliers from the UK and Worldwide to meet clients' needsInteract with key stakeholders and analyse data to create category management approaches that deliver against both client and company needs and expectationsDeliver projects within agreed timescales Knowledge, Experience, Skills:
At least 5 years' procurement experience in a major UK or international company and or public sector business demonstrating healthy progression in that time.A breadth of category management, moving successfully and quickly between direct and indirect product and service categories.The ability to manage, motivate and develop small project teams. This individual also needs to be able to identify and nurture less experienced talent, whilst supporting developmental areas of their peers. A successful track record in managing and influencing senior clients and stakeholdersStrong track record of savings delivery within a high spend environmentAny successful candidate must have the capability to develop, broadening their category experience, with a longer–term view of managing projects and project teamsBoundless energy Keen commercial business sense Excellent communications skills, both written and verbalGood organisational and time–management skillsPositive and proactive attitude, confident in taking personal initiativeGood negotiation skills and natural persuasionGood understanding of supply chain and procurement practicesEnjoyment of networking and meeting new peopleAbility to develop a robust client pipeline Randstad Business Support acts as an employment business when supplying temporary staff and as an employment agency when introducing candidates for permanent employment with a client.
