Introduction to our Financial Services (FS) Consulting team Our FS Consulting practice has an exciting opportunity for a talented and high performing individual to join our team in the UK. The FS Consulting team predominantly provides advice and support to our clients on risk and regulation. The role itself is focused on regulatory compliance across our insurance clients.
Much of UK regulation is principles–based and this means that it can be difficult for firms to really understand and apply the rules in practice. The risk of getting it wrong can be costly since the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) can take action through fines or even barring firms or individuals from offering certain services or products (amongst other powers).
Typical client work includes:
Managing the preparation of: Quarterly management accountsRegulatory returns to the PRA and FCA Liaising with other teams to co ordinate the delivery of servicesCompliance advice on a particular area of concernRegulatory applications / responses / communication / reportingDesign and deliver trainingRegulatory change / project supportDevelop and maintain regulatory frameworks, policies and proceduresInternal audit subject matter expertise Increased regulatory scrutiny, supervision and demand for assurance means our clients often need help to determine and demonstrate that they are taking the right approach.
Job Role & Purpose The role of a Manager is to take responsibility for delivering client projects. This will involve all aspects of the project lifecycle; from proposals, to project planning, execution of fieldwork and preparation of deliverables, including recommendations and reporting. You would deal directly with clients and manage assignments with senior input as necessary. You would also assist in training, support and development of junior team members.
The role would preferably be based in the London office although the location can be flexible. We have a hybrid working model, which means you will split your time between working from home, visiting the office and client sites when required. There is potential for travel outside of the UK, depending on government guidelines.
Part–time candidates will be considered.
The role itself will involve:
Managing the types of assignments listed aboveDealing with client queries and communicationsDrafting reports for various audiences and levels of our clients' businessWorking closely and collaboratively with members of the FS Consulting Team (and our clients) with technical input from senior team membersOverseeing junior team membersEnsuring that work is delivered within the agreed timeline and budgetKeeping track of regulatory and industry developments You may also be required to:
Develop our service offerings and assisting marketing, for example by writing articles or giving presentationsLead client meetings to present information/findingsPrepare client proposals to win new workDevelop training, engagement tools and methodologiesIdentify risks and issues that could impact delivery of client projects and escalate these as required Individual SpecificationsDesired Experience 5+ years' experience working within: a professional services firm with an audit or regulatory focus in Insurancethe FCA or PRAa financial institution (e.g., in a Risk or Regulatory Reporting team) Knowledge of key areas of FCA and PRA regulation.
