Empex Field SEC-50265 digital portable altimeter mobile puter, made in Japan
Multi-function puter for outdoor explorers, hikers, mountaineers, etc.
Waterproof digital altimeter with 5 functions.
Altimetry from 6000 to -100 metres, with alarm and memory functions.
Air pressure measurement: 500 to 1050 hpa / 15.9 to 31 inches.
Temperature measurement: +60 to -30 degrees Celsius.
Clock: with 2 time zones, alarm, timer (from 1 minute up to 19 hours 59 minutes) and calendar.
Barometer memory recall: the air pressure values over the last 20 hours are saved continuously and can be recalled in gaps of 1 hour.
Displays time, barometric pressure, barometric pressure trend (over the past 12 hours in 2 hour segments), altitude, temperature, maximum altitude reached, weather forecast.
Has a preset altitude alarm.
Predicts weather conditions (in terms of whether the weather will be cloudy or sunny) by continuously registering the air pressure changes to forecast weather developments.
Currently displaying metric units (air pressure, temperature, altitude), but can quickly be changed to imperial units.
Dimensions: 8 cm wide x 9 cm long x 2.5 cm thick, weighs 101 grams.
Purchased new in ca. 1995 for over £250 (for my parents, who used to enjoy extreme hiking in the Alps).
I have just fitted 2x new CR2032 batteries to test it (located behind rear cover, secured by 4x screws), all is working perfectly.
Includes operating instructions (4 pages of A4).
I can't find the original box or carry case, but will include a protective pouch case for it.
Collection in person from Colden Common (SO21 1SB) is ed, alternatively the item can be posted for £4 extra.
