DONALD A PATON ORIGINAL PAINTING

Fabulous, original watercolour painting of a lake and mountain landscape, signed by the British landscape artist Edward Horace Thompson (1879-1949) under his pseudonym Donald A Paton. As such, it must have been one of the first paintings where he used the pseudonym.
The picture is finely detailed and an exquisite example of the artist's claimed work.
The landscape is almost certainly either of a Scottish Glen or the Lake District. I read elsewhere that the artist inscribed the location on the back of his pictures, but I have not removed the back board of this one to check, preferring it to remain untouched.
Signed, lower right.
Image size: Width 22 1/2 inches; Height 11 inches.
Frame size: Width 30 inches: Height 19 inches. most of the pictures sold are much smaller than this. This could be a central feature on a wall.
Frame quite good condition. Some small marks and this is such a great painting I would reframe.
