I am selling my ceramics collection now that I am retired and downsizing
This is the largest private collection of DCW new to the market
Not the largest in my collection but definately one of my favourites
This vase is a Dennis Chinaworks 8\" Trial vase. It is Trial No1 and signed by Sally.
The vase has 9 Butterfly which fill ALL the available space leaves occupying the rest including Sally's geometric leaves on stems.
The vase that ended up being produ ed from this and other trials pletely different as it has fewer butterfly on them.
I asked Sally about this and this is the explanation ( my words).... Each vase costs an amount for each process: the clay, thrower, tube lining, decorating, glazing, kiln time and marketing. That is every vase.
This particular design took so much longer with the tube liner and later with the decorator that the cost would have been prohibitive: so a vase with less decoration was selected for production.
Fortunately for me though:- I love designs that are Full, with less background.
Also I have ended up with a really rare vase, besides being the 1st Trial it is the only one in the World so heavily decorated.
Now it can be yours.
All of my DCW are perfects and no seconds
