Completions Systems Engineer Location : Barrow Contract : Ongoing Salary : Dependent upon experience Start Date : ASAP CDS Recruitment and Training ltd have a new role for an experienced Completions Systems Engineer ( team Leader ) for an Global company. The role is within the maritime sector and it is highly desirable to have security clearance, or be preferred to gain security clearance. The outline of the role is : Reporting to the Completions System Manager, the Completions System Engineer (Project Leader) shall set-up, administer and ensure smooth operation of their instance of the Completions Management System for the Dreadnought Class of Boats. They will have significant experience in the application of Completions Management process on Major Projects, having operated a range of Completions Management Systems. They will be expected to adapt and apply these practices in Submarine Building/Commissioning, to develop these practices and to guide and instruct others in their application. The role shall ensure that the CMS is an effective tool for managing the Submarine completion, promoting a smooth and safe handover to Test & Commissioning and the end-user. The role is critical in ensuring the Completions Management System is available and functional on 24/7 basis, and must respond urgently to troubleshoot, fix and if necessary escalate cases through IM&T as required. The role holder will regularly interface with Heads of Project Management, leaders in Engineering, Build, Commissioning and end-user teams. Core Duties Able to manage independently a single Boat instance of the Completions Management System, to ensure that, over time, the needs of users are met and the project benefits of deploying Completions Management are achieved. Have a comprehensive knowledge of Completions Management process and procedures. Work collaboratively and develop effective working relationships with all relevant stakeholders (Build / Quality / Commissioning / Customer). Configure and populate the CMS database with data. Monitor the health of integration with BAES other digital systems such as SAP, Teamcenter and Primavera P6, and lead corrective action / interventions when necessary. Support the deployment of the CMS system into the organisation. This shall include comms engagement through the organisation, the roll-out of suitable training. Ensure that the CMS is effective in monitoring and tracking the status of inspection records, quality assurance record and certification for the activities by system across the boat. Facilitate the handover of test paths from Build to Commissioning in accordance with schedule, utilizing CMS for achievement of completion of each test path. Facilitate the handover of systems from Commissioning to End User, in accordance with schedule, utilizing CMS for achievement of completion of each system. Work with all relevant stakeholders to develop standard reports, such that there is clarity of the completions status. Able to undertake advanced problem solving typically based on previous experience. Administration and general office skills including spreadsheets/ Microsoft packages. Leadership Responsibilities Accountable as a member of the Completions Management team for supporting development and implementation of appropriately tailored Completions Management practices. Expected to provide technical support and coaching to system users across, Build, Quality, Commissioning & Customer. Ensures their Boat instance of CMS is meeting needs of users 24/7. Budget Responsibilities Competencies Capable of strategic thinking as well as the ability to work with and integrate substantial detailed information and data. Proven capability and experience in developing and deploying completions management system database comprising completion tracking of Build & Commissioning, by system, including system handover procedures. Good understanding of Engineering Requirements and product verification and validation arrangements and how they link to completions management arrangements. Should have good familiarity with key Engineering Drawing types. Skills: Track record of working on similar complexity Major Projects. Deep experience of Major Project completions/certification requirements that includes software-based tracking system for records documentation, check-lists, defect management, completion certificates, handover documentation etc. Completions Management is a significant portion of their professional work experience.
