Buyer - Permanent - Based in North Birmingham Your new companyA large Logistics/Distribution based organisation with a network of sites across the UK. They are currently recruiting for a Buyer role to be based from their North Birmingham site. Your new roleThe Buyer will work in partnership to source, select and facilitate the most effective freight solutions for a key client's services. The role will develop relationships with freight (Sea, road, air or rail) suppliers, negotiate on terms and resolve supply chain issues. The Buyer will support the implementation of the procurement strategy and will work with operational teams to support short, medium and long term plans. What you'll need to succeedTo be successful you will be a Buyer with experience of logistics and freight based procurement. Expertise in procurement of sea, road, air and rail freight solutions both within the UK and internationally is required. Strong experience in sourcing, negotiation and supplier management is also vital. You will be well organised and have strong communication skills.
