Antique middle-eastern table, ornate Arabic calligraphy carving, needs restoration

This is a quite unique small table. Ornately carved. The wood is dense and solid.
I don't know the age, but I've had it in the family for 50 years and it looked pretty much as old at the time as it does now. I saw a very similar one on an antique website estimated 1890.
On the negative side, it needs restoration, as you can see on the photos. Also it wobbles about 1.5 cm in each direction. I think it is waxed, not varnished.
