This large antique solid brass pitcher, made around 1910, is in the Arts & Crafts style.
Completely handmade, it has an all-over hammered texture (apart from the decorative bands and handle). The 1 in. (2.5 cm) wide decorative hands (midway and bottom), which are smooth, have small raised (repousse) domes. The pitcher has a gracefully curved long handle (attached with small copper rivets) and the top and bottom edges are rolled.
This pitcher makes a dramatic accent on its own but would also look nice with an arrangement of twigs, flowers or foliage. It stands 11 1/2 in. (29.3 cm) high at the spout and is 9 1/2 in. (24 cm) wide from spout to handle curve. The bottom diameter is 6 in. (15 cm). The pitcher is in very good condition, with no dents.
