Amstrad PC1512 Computer upgraded to 640k, original packaging, manual, system disks and Printer, and a lot of software both entertaining, and serious in nature.

So I always said I would keep puter, and pass it down through the generations until it was worth a fortune. Times change and downsizing means that space is at a premium.

My mum and dad gave puter to me for my 21st birthday in 1986, so she is a one owner from new machine.

Alan Sugar revolutionised puter world in 1986 with this machine...in fact he captured 25% of the puter market with the PC1512 - unheard of at the time. The price was £699 for this particular model - about £2000 in todays money, so I was a very fortunate kid with hard working generous parents.

I lived in Northern Ireland, when I was given puter in a town called Ballymena. A friend owned a shop there, called Nicholl Bros, with an address of 11 Wellington Street which can still be seen on a label on one of the boxes.

When the machine arrived I was studying engineering at Queens University in Belfast. The faculty was heavily sponsored by Ford, and Yamaha. My final year project was modelling the torsional vibration of an engine crankshaft using a technique called Holzer Analysis in puter language called Fortran 77. As you can see this auction includes the Fortran 77 software from 1987. Ford bought the simulation and used it to help design engines for cars and boats.

You are bidding for an Amstrad PC1512...and as I said I have owned puter from new. It is a double disk drive model with a colour monitor. As a student I upgraded the RAM to 640K, and installed a hard drive to handle the Fortran 77, and to speed up the boot process. I bought the upgrades from Evesham Micros, and installed them myself.

puter is in excellent discoloured condition, and performs like the day she was born. The diskdrives are smooth and silent. I havent tried anything plex, and to be honest I dont remember how to program in Fortran, but every disc I have tried has loaded faultlessly. The hard drive has been wiped for the sake of  confidentiality, but I have copied a couple of files on to it, and then wiped them again, so it seems to be working at least basically. The boxes are grubby, and battered but still structurally sound.

- Fortran 77 linker, compiler and driver disk.
- Pafec Dogs, CAD software - a rare 2D CAD package from the late 80's.
- Game software including space invaders, golf, a flight simulator, and many more. You can see the full collection in the pictures.
- Lastly I have included my word processing software called Wordperfect. I used it to write up my final year project.
