Staff Officer (Assistant Finance Business Partner), Belfast

Reed is engaged with a public body in Belfast city centre, in the appointment of a qualified Accountant to assume the role of Staff Officer (Assistant Finance Business Partner).
This contract is initially for six months with a likely extension.

Working closely with the Finance Business Partner, the Staff Officer will hold a varied remit to include the following responsibilities:
• Preparation of the monthly management accounts and information pack;• Prepare, monitor and review salary forecasting and reconciliations;• Calculate and prepare all monthly journals, including prepayments, accruals, miscoding journals, accrued income etc;• Review the general ledger for miscoding transactions & correct expenditure analysis, providing breakdowns;• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of all revenue and capital budgets;• Provide advice and guidance to budget holders on budget profiling and forecasting;• Prepare budget allocations for all cost centres within area of responsibility;• Prepare and update forecasting details;• Ensure budgets are profiled accordingly, and monthly forecast profile returns completed;• A full job description is available upon request
Applicants must, by the closing date for applications:
Have successfully passed the final professional examinations and be a full, current member of one of the professional bodies (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA or equivalent), with a minimum of 6 months post-qualified experience within the last two years.ANDHave one year's experience gained in the last five years, in a finance related environment, in one or more areas of:
financial planning and budgeting; Financial accounting/auditing; (c) forensic accounting/insolvency-related work; management accounting and cost analysis; investment finance; treasury management; and/or development/implementation of financial systems
