The Zero DSR electric motorbike is the Race version of the Zero DS and is equipped with an uprated Z-Force 75-7R motor, which delivers 18% greater peak power of 52 kW (70 hp) and a staggering 45% increase in torque at 116 ft lb, which results in very rapid acceleration up to a top speed of 102 mph.
Showa provides the fully adjustable, front and rear suspension with inverted 41 mm front forks and a 40mm piston, piggy-back reservoir shock at the rear, both providing 7″ of travel. Brakes are courtesy of Bosch 9th Gen ABS mated to J-Juan calipers which grip a 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm disc at the rear.
The DSR is only offered with a 14.4 kWh Power Pack and despite its huge power advantage over the DS, weighs just 7 lb (3 kg) more at 419 lb (190 kg) and delivers up to 163 city miles or bined (city/highway) figure of 105 miles. Onboard charging runs at 1.3 kW, which charges the battery in around 9 hours (to 95%), which can be reduced to 2.3 hours with the optional 6 kW Charge Tank.
Additional range can be provided by the 3.6 kWH Power Tank, which will add 41 miles of City range or 27 miles bined (city/highway) range, providing a total of 204 miles and 132 miles respectively.
The Power Tank cannot bined with a Charge Tank and adds 20 kg (44 lb), taking the total weight to 463 lb (210 kg).
