-------------------Frequently asked questions What does CAT N Mean?------------------------CAT N means the pany has chosen to pay out on a car instead of repairing, they have then assessed the damage as repairable and non structural, and to parts of the car which can be unbolted thrown away and replaced if necessary.
-------------------------What does CAT S mean?----------------------Similar to CAT N, repairable, but to the main body of the car. This is not something to worry about necessarily, if you look at a scrape on a wheel arch for instance, on the rear arch it would be CAT S on the front arch it would be CAT N, because in theory you could unbolt the front wing and throw it away. The reality is in both cases you would simply repair the scrape on a wheel arch. A cat S car shouldn't be dismissed providing the pre repair photos are available. Remember the non repairable cars of your worries are CAT B and e back on the road. the important part of both CAT N and S to remember is they have both been assessed as repairable to return to the road by a qualified insurance assessor.
