Vehicle owned by Fleet Manager of a Courier Company so has been exceptionally maintained and has wanted for nothing, evidenced by a host of invoices, receipts and vehicle history, in addition to a full breakdown of all works, maintenance and repair completed over the course of my ownership.
MOT expires 9/8/23. At last MOT the car showed advisories for a minor oil leak, a coolant leak and rear braking system requiring adjustment. A water pump was fitted shortly after the MOT, the source of the oil leak was found and repaired, and the rear driver’s side was fitted with a new brake caliper. The car was re-tested and passed but, due to tester error, the advisories weren’t removed. This can be confirmed with Swift Swallownest who completed the MOT and some of the repairs themselves. The car has just been fully serviced at great expense with all MANN filters, Castrol Oil and six brand new NGK Spark Plugs, at a total cost of around £300 for parts and labour. The car is also running fresh coolant as it had a new radiator in December costing over £900 with genuine Ford Pipes at a further cost of £150. The car has also just had a fresh coil pack with uprated plug leads, at a cost of over £200. The tax is also the cheaper rate being an early model ST220.
The vehicle shows as Cat C due to a minor accident very early in it’s life (around 2004), which was repaired and has never caused any issues.
In December 2021 the vehicle was fitted with four brand new tyres. The rears are almost as new, and the fronts still have around 5mm of tread on them. Shortly before my ownership, in July 2021, the vehicle was fitted with a new genuine Ford clutch, slave cylinder and dual mass flywheel at a cost of over £1000.
The car is, of course, twenty years old, and so there are the usual age-related cosmetic things to consider – a few stone chips on the bonnet, the driver’s seat right bolster is very slightly coming away from the seat base, the usual front bumper slight sagging that this era of Mondeo is famous for – however, the car is in remarkably good condition for the age, with almost no rust and a genuine ‘no filter needed’ shine to the performance blue paint, which is also applied to the centre console, gear gaiter surround and steering wheel accents. In September 2022, I entered the car at the Rotherham Show Classic and Vintage Rally, where it took pride of place amongst the early 2000s category.
Car comes with Recaro cream leather seats (heated in the front), 18 inch genuine original alloys (could do with refurbishing), full Miltek exhaust system, which is truly the soul of the car, with the unbelievable sound of that Duratec V6 and a few natural pops and bangs, but doesn’t drone and is quiet when you want it to be. Also fitted is a REVO air filter, in addition to a Sony radio with DAB, Bluetooth, Phone Connectivity, CD, Aux Port and dynamic colour changing modes.
Genuine reason for sale. In no rush to sell so won’t entertain low ball offers. The car is one of the last of the Fast Ford saloons (albeit with a hatchback boot) and is an easy, reliable and fun future classic and investment.
