1987 Pontiac Trans Am 5.0 V8 Trans AM Petrol Automatic

This generation of F Body Firebird was made famous by Knight Rider and has been a popular choice compared with it's Chevrolet cousin and competing with the Fox=Body Mustangs. A true Trans AM by VIN number and running the 5.0 V8 engine. The car starts well requiring only a modest warm up and runs, drives and stops. We have carried out routine service actions including new oil, filters, spark plugs and leads as well setting up the carburettor which was an addition by the previous owner. Alternator and ancillary engine items all appear to work well. The transmission is good and brakes and tyres are also all good. The car comes with a recent MOT also. The car does have cherry bomb exhausts fitting and is very loud!Structurally it is in a good place with some welding to the seals and floor pans and arches completed as part of the preparation process. Otherwise is pretty solid and wants no additional work currently. Bodywork on the whole is ok but it would benefit from a repaint at some point. Some of the door seals and window rubbers have seen better days but there is no sign of leaks into the car. The seats have been recently reupholstered to a good standard. the vehicle will need a roof lining refitting. there is some wear aroudn the dash and door cards mainly fading but one door card certainly has some missing fabric. Features on the whole work but the heating/fan system is a project down the line for a new owner. We haven't looked into this but the fan is noisy. Overall this is a good running project. On a test drive (a few miles) it has behaved fine. Scope is there for a new owner to enhance it mechanically and continue the cosmetic restoration also.
