Leistung Auto are proud to offer a rare opportunity to own this outstanding BMW E28.This extremely rare car rolled out of the Dingolfing factory as a BMW 528i SE from there it was transported to UK-based TWR ‘Tom Walkinshaw Racing'.TWR were the licensees for Alpina at this time and this E28 benefited from various performance upgrades including a 3.5L engine conversion that boosted the power to 221 bhp(TWR were the UK authorised Alpina agents from 1977 until 1983 when Sytner gained the contract for the revered tuners franchise).This cars upgrades at the time of build include:Bilstein dampers, upgraded 284mm brakes and a Getrag five-speed manual gearbox.Asthetics(plus aero and roadholding of course)were improved by an Alpina air dam and the addition of the inimitable 16''' Alpina alloy wheels.The cabin was enhanced with Scheel bucket seats with a cloth finish plus details such as Alpina badging on the steering wheel and wooden gear knob.There is also Alpina branding engraved on the steering wheel and printed in the centre of the tachometer.Be in no doubt that this is a bone fide Alpina BMW and one of the finest examples available for sale in the UK today.The car drives and handles as 6 Cylinder BMW E28 should as it has benefited from a recent ground up restoration at Munich Legends.A compact saloon car by todays standards the E28 offers astonishing visibility from its light and airy cabin,maikng this a safe car to drive quickly when required.The Claus Luthe design has the old BMW design cues we so miss nowadays married to undiluted driving pleasure offered by the combination of BMW,Alpina and TWR.One of a selection of 1980s Sports Saloons we have on offer at present,please feel free to contact us regarding this unique piece of BMW history.You will find an excellent article regarding this car and the full restoration carried out by Munich Legends here: In addition to this we also have an article from Total BMW available on our website to download as a PDF.
